This option entails the need to build an interface program that will translate the Financial System’s output code into one that the new Customer Service System can understand. This interface program will need to do the same translation but reverse direction for the customer information in these two systems. The cost is thirty percent of option 1.
6.2.1 Advantages
The costs are thirty percent of option 1.
6.2.2 Disadvantages
This option increases the probability of errors or setbacks due to many moving parts. Coding schemes and translation programs must be compatible and have the potential to cost more when problems arise.
